Goderbauer Architects
The official page of Goderbauer Architects Founded in 2003 in New York, USA, the work of Goderbauer covers a broad range of scale from entries to urban planning competitions to custom furniture design. Recently a new office in Berlin was opened. Annette Goderbauer, the founder and principal of the studio studied at the TU in Munich and at the University of Stuttgart after having completed an apprentice ship for cabinet making. After graduating she was an associate at Steven Holl Architects for many years before opening her own practice. Goderbauer seeks a design that is contemporary, a design that is a reflection of, and reaction to the present tense. Rather than imposing a style upon different projects the design must be concept-driven. Respecting the human scale within space, realizing the haptic perception of materials and understanding the complexity of light -natural and artificial- are core elements of the design. Each project has to interact with global and local conditions and has to incorporate issues of sustainability and energy conservation. Goderbauer approaches architecture collaboratively with its consultants and is seeking the exchange and interaction with artists and designers of other disciplines. Goderbauer provides the full range of services from conceptual design to finished product.
